We're Dedicated to Pros

25 years. That’s the average customer relationship with NDS. These pros keep returning for engineering excellence that stands the test of time, backed by expert advice and service at every turn.

OUR STORY BEGINS IN THE COMMERCIAL SPACE

NDS is uniquely qualified to help you maximize design safety while streamlining installation. 50 years ago, we created the industry’s first catch basin, constructed with plastic for superior durability. Since then, we’ve continued setting a bar for innovation by applying the German-precision engineering values for which our parent company, NORMA Group, is well known. On this foundation of ingenuity, we’ve grown a veteran team of civil engineers and drainage specialists. They specialize in helping professionals solve commercial stormwater challenges. Their goal: Make your life easier, and give you peace of mind when it comes to stormwater drainage.

SUSTAINABILITY IS INNOVATION

In our 50-year history, we’ve pushed the industry in the direction of innovation. Today, we continue that streak with a proactive focus on sustainability. With the support of NORMA Group, we consistently improve our processes to become more efficient and reduce (or eliminate) our environmental impact. Here’s what sustainability looks like for NDS:

  • Utilizing recycled materials. Over 61 percent of plastics used in manufacturing are recycled.
  • Reducing waste in our operations. In 2009, we replaced 40 percent of our injection molding machines with new state of the art machines, resulting in a 19 percent reduction in energy usage/lb of finished product, a 67 percent reduction in scrap, and a 50 percent reduction in hydraulic oil use.
  • Selecting vendors that provide sustainable options. In 2009, 100 percent of our catalogs, brochures, and sell sheets were printed on recycled paper from Forest Stewardship Council certified sources.
  • Designing packaging that optimizes the use of materials. We use smarter packaging options with less material without sacrificing quality, and we’re experimenting with soy-based inks.

We believe you can’t call yourself a leader in stormwater management without a commitment to the surrounding environment. That’s why we’ll continue to make changes that are more than a drop in the bucket.
